Housing
Safe, affordable accommodation is not a welfare measure. It is essential economic infrastructure. Udaiti is helping shift the national conversation on women's housing from fragmented, scheme-based interventions to a strategic priority for economic growth and women's workforce participation.
Our work focuses on labour-intensive urban service sectors, where demand for women workers is growing rapidly, but long-term retention remains a challenge. A key barrier is the shortage of safe, affordable accommodation near places of work. By positioning housing as a critical workforce enabler, we help improve talent retention, expand women's geographic mobility, and support more inclusive labour markets.
Mobility
Can a free bus ticket rewrite a state's economic trajectory? To find out, Udaiti collaborated with Sambodhi Research to evaluate Punjab's free bus ride scheme for women, treating mobility as a primary catalyst for economic liberation.
The study isolates exactly how targeted transit subsidies lower the physical barriers keeping women from the workplace. By analyzing direct impacts on autonomy & job access, we have built a data-driven framework showing policymakers how to transform a popular public subsidy into a hyper-efficient, scalable engine for labor force participation.
